Sand Hill Stretch and Sketch Workshop

An afternoon of fun and learning in the great outdoors using a sketch pad, pencil, canvas and paint with artist Darlene Strong at the historic spot of Sand Hill in Amherst, NS. Capture the fluffy, rolling clouds as they constantly move and change shape. Discover different shades of green as the sun shifts, and learn how to create cartoon and comic strips with lines and circles. Materials are provided, all ages welcome and no experience necessary.

Darlene Strong is a Nova Scotia ArtsSmart self-taught artist who developed a passion for the arts at a very early age. Peers say her natural ear for piano, gifted eye for art and fathers’ quick wit for the spoken word has provided Strong with opportunities some would only dream of. Strong’s art reflects an Impressionist style and her preferred medium is acrylic for its quick drying aspects. Strong’s work was included in the recent exhibition Africville: A Spirit that Lives On – A Reflection Project.

More information, access and location details will be shared with registered participants in advance of the workshop.
