Queer Memoir Comics Workshop

November 20-22 at 1:00-4:00pm

In this Queer Memoir Comics workshop series, Fern Pellerin will give a short introductory course in queer memoir comics and technical skills in comic-making. This online workshop invites 2SLGBTQ+ people to create short memoir comics about themselves, their lives, experiences and memories. The comics produced from this workshop will be compiled in an anthology which will be housed on MSVU Art Gallery’s website.

 

About the Facilitator
Fern Pellerin is a Romani nonbinary lesbian. They are an illustrator and textile artist based in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki. They graduated NSCAD with a degree in Interdisciplinary Arts, illustration and art history in 2020. They are inspired by queer Romani identity, cartoons, nostalgia, memory, and try to not take themselves too seriously.

 

How to Participate
This online workshop is free but advanced registration is required as space is limited. If you are interested in participating, please email kelsey.mclaughlin2@msvu.ca by November 8 and include the following info:

  • Indicate if you have any access needs or concerns (e.g. require ASL interpretation, technology support, etc)
