Flag-making Workshop

MSVU Art Gallery is hosting a flag-making workshop in conjunction with QUIET PARADE. Materials will be provided for participants to make small flags with words and designs that encourage and celebrate quiet. Workshop participants are invited to make a flag for themselves and one to be used at the parade on October 15. There will be a variety of options for messages, colors, and shapes and attendees are encouraged to be creative with their designs and materials!

How to Participate
This workshop is a free, drop-in event that is open to the public. Materials, snacks and refreshments will be provided. All ages are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Visitors are asked to be mindful of the spirit of QUIET PARADE while attending the workshop and to promote a sensory-friendly environment by keeping their voices low, reducing unexpected stimuli (such as cell phone alerts), and avoid wearing fragrances to the workshop.

COVID-19 Safety
Participants will be required to follow up-to-date COVID-19 protocols. Wearing masks is not currently mandated, but visitors are strongly encouraged to do so. Masks will be available, and disinfectant wipes will be provided to sanitize shared materials between uses. Participants who want or need to maintain physical distance will be able to.

Location & Access
This event will take place at MSVU Art Gallery, located on the first floor of Seton Academic Centre. MSVU Art Gallery is committed to addressing access needs. This event aims to foster a low-stimulation environment in which everyone who wishes to participate is able. The venue is wheelchair accessible and ASL interpretation is available upon request.
