Placing Spaces, Spacing Places – Canadian Experimental Films & Videos since 1990

Spacing Places is the sequel to Changing Times, the video and experimental film series presented by MSVU Art Gallery in 2002. Recent works by Kika Thorne, Paulette Phillips, Michael Snow, Manon Labreque, Nelson Henricks and other Canadian artists have been selected for their relevance to the politics and poetics of location. Each evening explores a broad category of spatial experience (“home,” “travel” and “close-up”), concluding on 31 July with a retrospective of videos by visiting Montreal artist Nikki Forrest.

Screenings were presented in cooperation with the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative. La Femme 100 têtes acknowledges financial support from the Canada Council Media Arts section.
