They write: \n“Lunch Money is a metaphor for conjuring something pleasurable out of conditions of the bare minimum. You only have enough money for lunch buy you don’t spend it on lunch. The art in Lunch Money provides … an escape from austerity\, depression\, lack of money or opportunity. It is what you see on the wallpaper when dreaming with your eyes open… \nLunch Money is not about the body. If you stayed with the body\, you would have lunch. It is about giving the hunger of the soul precedence.”[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”16654\,16655″ display_title_caption=”true” layout=”3″ masonry_style=”true” item_spacing=”default” gallery_style=”2″ load_in_animation=”none”][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Style Council
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]The term “style” has been displaced in the art lexicon by phrases such as “signifying practice.” Yet distinctiveness\, elegance\, even perversity of expression continue to enjoy a lively currency in the art world. \nThe curatorial consortium of Pamela Edmonds\, Ingrid Jenkner\, Robin Metcalfe\, and Robert Zingone was organized to explore this phenomenon from distinct curatorial perspectives. Treating “style” as an art packaging paradigm\, a sign of social identity\, a gendered construct or the badge of fashionability\, the four selectors each presented two or three works of art that embody one or more of these principles. \nRelated event: Wednesday\, January 20\, 1999\nHairstyles\nA public panel discussion for the style conscious was held in the Art Gallery with Pamela Edmonds\, Rebecca Fisk\, Greg Forrest\, & Robin Metcalfe.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”16642\,16643″ display_title_caption=”true” layout=”3″ masonry_style=”true” item_spacing=”default” gallery_style=”2″ load_in_animation=”none”][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
