A Montréal-based photographer\, Gutsche gathered her images by living alongside the nuns in their convents. The photographs were taken with a large-format camera and are grouped in series of silver and chromogenic prints\, many as large as 28″ x 36″. The formal\, staged appearance of the images is in part an outcome of the technical apparatus\, and in part a reflection of the subjects’ preferred mode of self-presentation.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”16646\,16647″ display_title_caption=”true” layout=”3″ masonry_style=”true” item_spacing=”default” gallery_style=”2″ load_in_animation=”none”][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
